TASTING NOTES:

Stanley Estate Lagrein – A quality, fruit driven wine, with a palate of Black Morello cherries, red plums, hints of Liquorice, tobacco, leather and vanilla. Soft on the nose, the effect of the oak maturation is subtle and noticeable, giving the wine balance, depth and structure with strong silky tannins and a spicy finish.

Hans Herzog Zweigelt – The wonderful dark purple colour of this wine is a tastebud sensation! Sweet and savoury like a Black Forest Gateau in a bottle! Wonderful aromas of dark chocolate, juicy ripe plums, sweet Damson plums and prunes with spicy undertones. There is a hint of black pepper, tobacco, Mediterranean herbs and liquorice. A flavour powerhouse and a highly complex wine with a great lively acidity, structure, soft tannins and a lingering finish. This is a wine built to last.

Giesen Organic Syrah – An intriguing, elegant Syrah with violet floral on the nose, followed by layers of dark blackberries and juniper offset by earthy, smokey character framed by a dash of oak and spice.

Greywacke Pinot Noir – A seductive combination of blackberries, blueberries and sweet black plums intermingled with roasted chestnuts, cloves and dark tobacco-rich and exotic with hints of lavender and rose petal. A highly perfumed, aromatic style of Marlborough pinot with opulent fruit sweetness and a delicate smoky infusion. The palate is generous with ripe fruit, fine tannins and a delicious spicy finish.

Forrest Pinot Noir – Delicious aromas of raspberry, strawberry and black Dawson cherry with hints of violets. The taste is all dark fruit cake and plum, with hints of spice and savoury, “forest floor” aromas. It’s full, complex and delicious on the palate! Great drinking now but your patience will be rewarded by cellaring for 5+ years.

Astrolabe Province Pinot Noir – An aroma of savoury ripe dark and red cherry, brambly fruits with a hint of smoky oak. A palate of full-bodied wine with round, mouth filling flavours of plum, brambly fruit and dark cherry. The oak integrates nicely with the fruit and combines well with the silky and linear tannin structure.
