WINE TASTING NOTES:
Greywacke 2014 Wild Sauvignon – Imagine an almond friand full of white nectarine, blood orange and rock melon – laced with linseed, tarragon and lightly smoked tea. This is an alternative style that is both intricate and textural, a delicious concoction created by fermenting sauvignon blanc entirely with naturally occurring yeast.
Greywacke 2014 Chardonnay – An alluring combination of cumquats, peaches and yellow grapefruit melds with the more savoury aromas of almond nougat, vanilla beans and marzipan – an opulent concoction that is infused with a charry smokiness. The savouriness carries through onto a wonderfully dry, but rich and powerful palate that has great texture and concentration – evidence of this wine’s low-intervention genesis.
Greywacke 2014 Pinot Noir – A sweet-scented compote of poached Black Doris plums, raspberries and black cherries with a spoonful of homemade strawberry conserve stirred in for good measure. A highly fragrant style of Marlborough pinot with cinnamon and clove spiciness – a dense structure, generous palate weight and a long, lively finish.

]]>Allan Scott Cecelia Brut / Hunters Mirumiru Rosé / Nautilus Marlborough Cuvée / Saint Clair Dawn Méthode Traditionnelle
Average price per bottle was $42.25 now $35.91
WINE TASTING NOTES:
Allan Scott Cecelia Brut – When the bottle is opened the wine “pops” into life and you are immediately met with a fruity and floral character with notes of blossom, apple, pear and hints of ripe red berry fruits. Fresh, soft fruit entry with lemon and appley complexity and a crisp, clean finish.
Hunters Mirumiru Rosé – Jane Hunter loves pink bubbles so the decision was made to create a MiruMiru Rose. Wonderfully blush pink colour. Aromas of subtle strawberry and raspberry with a touch of fresh brioche. The palate is refined with freshness and balanced acidity.
Nautilus Marlborough Cuvée – A favourite in the local New Zealand market, we have produced this sparkling wine since 1989, and it was included in Michael Cooper’s book 100 Must-Try New Zealand Wines. Made in the traditional method from 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay. It is aged on its lees for three years before being disgorged to develop delicious biscuity toasty flavours.
Saint Clair Dawn Méthode Traditionnelle – It’s a celebration of and tribute to Dawn Ibbotson – an amazingly positive women who enjoyed good wine and good health from 1914 – 2020 (105 years). Disgorged with 35 months ageing on lees, this wine is elegant and complex with a rich palate and fine mousse. Drink as an aperitif or match with freshly shucked oysters. Dawn Ibbotson is the driving inspiration behind the creation of the Dawn series. Based on positivity, generosity, dedication to the community, uncompromising values and a desire to be her best.
